The Mortgage Application Process

First Horizon Home Loans wants to make your new home application procedure efficient and very organized. The more prepared you are when you meet your mortgage professional, the better your experience will be. Below is a check list to help facilitate the mortgage application process for Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC home buyers and real estate investors. Contact First Horizon with your mortgage questions.

Personal:
  • Name, age, two year address history, social security number, and photo ID for all applicants.
  • Income:
  • Two year employment history with addresses, phone numbers, length of time on jobs, and income.
  • Two most recent paystubs and two years tax returns, including W-2 forms.
  • Verification of other income, such as stock dividends, child support, etc.
  • If self-employed or commissioned, furnish past two years tax returns, including all schedules and a profit/loss statement for current year.
  • Assets:
  • Last three months bank statements for all checking, savings, CD’s, stock, and 401K’s.
  • Year, make, model, and current market value of all cars, boats, RV’s, etc.
  • Name, age, two year address history, social security number, and photo ID for all applicants.
  • Creditors:
  • Credit cards – account numbers, current balances (including any with “0” balances), and minimum monthly payments.
  • Installment Loans – account Numbers, current balances, and payments.
  • Mortgage Loans – name and address of lender, account number, loan balance and payment on all properties currently owned or sold within the last two years: bring settlement sheets and warranty deeds on property sold.
  • Name, address, phone number and weekly cost for child care provider.
  • Name, address and phone number of landlord.
  • Other:
  • Divorce decrees signed by Judge and separation agreement, including all modifications.
  • Sales contract on the new home you are purchasing and Realtor’s brochure.
  • Sales contract/listing agreement on your present home.
  • Check for $_____________ for appraisal and credit report.
  • VA Loans Only:
  • DD214 or Statement of Service and Certificate of Eligibility.

Information about Schools and is available including SAT scores. Houses for sale are abundent in Fairfax, Ashburn, Leesburg, Haymarket and Gainesville. The Virginia and Maryland real estate market is one of the strongest in The United States-USA. There are thousands of Northern VA homes for sale, townhomes for sale and new condominiums for sale. Fairfax homes, townhouses, condos are often more expensive than Loudoun County single family houses, town homes and condos. Fairfax housing, including apartments is more costly on average than Loudoun County houses or Prince William Virginia homes. The largest new house communities are: Brambleton-Loudoun,Va (Ashburn)Lansdowne in Loudoun(Leesburg) Dominion Valley, Victory Lakes, Vint Hill and Braemar in Prince William County, VA as well as South Riding by Toll Brothers in Loudon County. Stone Ridge, Beacon Hill, Broadlands and Belmont CountryClub are popular housing developments. These communities are near many fine private, public, elementary and high schools located in both VA and MD near new single family homes, townhomes and condominiums with daycare and childcare centers nearby. New homes in Fairfax County VA are generally more expensive than new homes in Loudoun County Virginia or Prince William County Virginia. New housing in Montgomery County Maryland is generally more expensive than homes in Anne Arundel or Prince Georges County MD. Washington DC real estate prices have been rising quickly as well, particularly in 2004.
