New Homes in Leesburg, VA
Leesburg, Virginia Homes, Townhomes, Condominiums & Leesburg Builders
Leesburg, Virginia located 30 miles northwest of Washington D.C. at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a charming colonial town reminiscent of Revolutionary War times. Named after the influential Lee family in 1758 and incorporated in 1813, Leesburg has special historical significance in America's political history. During the war of 1812, Leesburg was chosen as the secret hiding place for the The Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and other famous documents. In 1823, President James Monroe with the assistance of John Quincy Adams wrote the famed Monroe Doctrine in nearby Oak Hill documenting American imperialistic foreign policy. On September 14, 2008, The Town of Leesburg celebrated its 250th birthday. During that celebration, the town unveiled its new flag.
Today, Leesburg is the seat of government for one of America's fastest growing counties. Despite the town's population explosion to an estimated 40,000 residents over the past decade, Leesburg's old world charm and historical significance has not been compromised. It is home to several large internet, telecommunications and technology firms which fueled the greatest real estate boom in United States history.
Like Ashburn, Virginia, the Leesburg area is conveniently located near one of our nation's most vibrant shopping centers. Nordstrom's, Wegmans, Lowes, Home Depot and Costco are just moments away off Route 7, Leesburg's direct artery to The Dulles Toll Road, Tyson's Corner and Washington DC.. Commuters from Leesburg and Ashburn who need quick access to Reston, Fairfax, the District and Dulles International Airport will also find the Greenway a smooth, high-speed scenic delight.
For 2010, New homes in Leesburg, Virginia are very similar in price, product and demographic profile to new homes in Ashburn, Sterling and Potomac Falls, VA. Many of the national and local homebuilders duplicate their offerings in the varying locations. The most acclaimed new community with a Leesburg mailing address is Landsdowne Resort on The Potomac with its world class Robert Trent Jones championship golf course. In 2009, Donald Trump purchased nearby Lowes Island Country Club which he intends to develop into one of the finest golf resorts in the United States. The mountainous views, rolling manicured greens and riverfront topography are breathtaking. Landsdowne Resort, once owned by the Xerox Corporation, sold-off much of the land to Northern Virginia home builders, including: Van Metre, Beazer, Centex, Ryan, NV Homes, Basheer and IDI.
2010 new home sales are showing improvement and prices are slowly rising in concert with relatively low interst rates. Particularly strong is Del Webb's nearby Potomac Green Active Adult community. Del Webb offers 2000 square foot Villas from the upper $200's and patio style homes from the mid $300-400's. The value is outstanding at Potomac Green where those as young as 50 can own a very affordably priced new home with a fabulous clubhouse and a myriad of planned social activities on site as well as in and around Loudoun County.
The council is noting a steadily increasing demand for Active Adult communities in Northern Virginia as parents flee the high tax regions of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut purchasing new homes in Northern VA to be closer to their children, many of whom hold professional careers in Loudoun County's Leesburg, Ashburn and the Washington DC metro area.
